Greetings Sisters,

I want to say thank you. I am honored and humbled to be serving the current and incoming alumnae community
over the next two years.

jenny-qiaoComing off of the convention high, I am continuously inspired by the love and collaboration of the sisters, which is at the heart of our mission. The creativity and teamwork I saw throughout convention has motivated me to push harder for our cause and continuously impact our communities. Thus, as I begin my role as the vice president of alumnae, I want to share the plans I have in mind.

First and foremost, I would like to to maintain the core of the Alumnae Association, focusing on bettering our alumnae chapters while also providing a smooth transition for new graduates into alumnae membership. Second, I want to focus on the creation and expansion of alumnae networks. The purpose of these networks is to provide a community for sisters in cities across the United States. These chapters and networks will provide an opportunity for alumnae to connect with each other and stay involved in their communities. Finally, I would like the Alumnae Association to partner with Delta Phi Lambda Foundation, whether through community service or fundraising for the sorority. The goal of the partnership will be to provide better leadership and scholarship opportunities for sisters.

The Alumnae Association would not be possible without all of the alumnae sisters who volunteer their time to act as chapter advisers, plan and execute convention and serve as alumnae chapter directors, national staff or board members. I want to thank these volunteers for their generosity because many of them are full-time employees (and/or moms), and time is precious.

I’m looking forward to meeting all of you throughout our time together.

In everlasting sisterhood,

Jenny “elaira” Qiao
