Did you know that gullible was written on the ceiling?
Depending on what holiday calendar you personally adhere to, you’d know that Sept. 28 is “Ask a Stupid Question” day (or the last day of school in September, especially for students and teachers).
For some people, this is easier said than done… or perhaps it’s both in this case?
Today is the day that the calendar gives you the opportunity to talk out and pipe up every thought and question you were too afraid to ask in fear of ridicule. Granted, you might get more than a few funny looks from your friends, but they’ll love you anyway! So take a deep breath, let it out, and have fun with it!
You will have to thank the ’80s teachers of America for this holiday. They felt that students were too concerned about their peers to raise their hands and ask a question that they weren’t sure about. After considerable brainstorming, teachers then decided that if it was a holiday, the kids wouldn’t feel as self-conscious as they would normally and would be more likely to speak up with concerns or questions.
Regarding the social pressures students face about always having the right answer and the correct thinking, it is understandable the practical uses that this title serves, but… that also doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun with it, huh?
I mean… why IS the grass green?
