It has been an amazing opportunity serving as the editor-in-chief for The Jade Times. As you may have noticed, Kristine Medina is officially the new editor-in-chief. She has been a great asset as the assistant editor for the past year, and her passion for its success is inspiring. Along with Wilma Miranda and our awesome team of writers and graphic designers, we brought on some positive changes the past year, such as a new website layout, logo and more opportunities for sisters to contribute to the newsletter.

I am confident Kristine and TJT staff will continue the success of the newsletter and find ways to creatively connect sisters. We are always looking for more sisters to join our team, so please let us know if you are interested.

Have a great fall semester and best of luck with recruitment!

Thank you for continuing to support The Jade Times.

Oanhie “Shinsen” Pham

Let me introduce myself: I am The Jade Times editor-in-chief for 2015-2016 or as long as you’ll have me. You may know me as Kristine the former assistant editor, also known as “Aster,” a University of West Florida (UWF) charter who crossed in spring 2010. Born in Cavite City, Philippines. Raised in Pensacola, FL. Majored in print journalism and legal studies at UWF. I am a library clerical assistant on the weekdays and a server/sales clerk on the weekends.

I will wholly dedicate my mind, body, and spirit to serve your newsletter needs. My goals for The Jade Times during my term are to: establish a concrete foundation and efficient flow for the staff; initiate conversation about the Everlasting Sisterhood; promote visibility and awareness of sorority news and activities; increase sister-to-sister interaction online; and work with the foundation and alumnae to assist with promoting educational, leadership and career opportunities.

During my term as the editor-in-chief, I want you to define dedicated female leader. I want you to discover new horizons. I want to gain your trust in sharing your stories, our story.

Get excited. Expect nothing short of excellence.

Let’s pursue this vision and complete our mission together!
