As you know, Kristine “Aster” Medina stepped down from her role as editor-in-chief for The Jade Times earlier this month and has started a new position with the National APIDA Panhellenic Association as the director of programs. In the past year, The Jade Times has blossomed under Kristine’s leadership and the publication will continue to grow through the works of the dedicated newsletter team.

My name is Alberta Chu and I am serving as the acting editor-in-chief. During this leadership transition period, The Jade Times will continue to connect undergraduate and alumna sisters through the monthly feature articles of Sister Spotlight, Sisterhood Photo of the Month, and Ask a Sister. We will also continue to explore topics of sisterhood, philanthropy, the greater fraternal community, and women’s issues, and allow them to serve as a starting point of reflection: how do we redefine our sisterhood of 18 years today?

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.” – John F. Kennedy.

We invite you to be a part of the future of The Jade Times. We encourage you to connect with us on social media and via email. We are interested to know what topics you want to read about, and thoughts you have towards the articles we publish. We want to connect with you, sisters, as individuals, and we want you to share your stories through us. Please do not hesitate to contact us at

Lastly, I would like to thank the staff of The Jade Times for their dedication and hard work in serving our sorority.

Let our light shine forth.

Alberta “Harlequin” Chu
