Have you ever wondered about the Easter Bunny? Well, I did my research and found how the Easter Bunny came about. There are many different stories of how the Easter Bunny came to be associated with Easter. Many of the cultures share the same basic reason as to why the rabbit was chosen.
During the pre-Christian days, in spring time, the Anglo Saxons prayed to the god Eastre. This prayer was used in hope for couples to conceive. The reason why they use the rabbit (and eggs) is because they symbolize fertility and rebirth.
So after the holiday and tradition were established, the Germans decided to bring them over to the Americas. They have gained popularity ever since. To this day, adults and children alike look forward to eating those chocolate Easter bunnies and painting Easter eggs.
